About the Firm
Our Story
Cornerstone Private Builders was founded on a conviction formed over decades in real estate and construction: the difference between a house and an heirloom is made in the decisions no one sees — the framing behind the tile, the blocking behind the walls, the systems under the floors.
Our founder brings a background spanning large-scale commercial development, national retail construction programs, and hands-on residential building. That experience shaped how we work: competitive trade bidding, documented specifications, disciplined budgets, and a construction management model that puts the owner's interests — not a builder's margin — at the center of every decision.
We build a small number of homes each year in Long Island's North Shore and Gold Coast villages, and we build each one as if our own family were moving in. On our first project, one did.
Leadership
Founder & Principal
Or has spent his career building — first growing a family retail business into a thirty-plus location operation across the Tri-State area, then leading real estate and construction for a national grocery chain's New York expansion, and today directing site acquisition and development for a regional real estate platform. A licensed attorney, he brings legal fluency to contracts, approvals, and municipal processes, and a developer's discipline to budgets and schedules.
You see every trade bid and every invoice. Our fee is transparent, and savings from competitive bidding belong to you — not to us.
Contracts, permits, village approvals, and consultant agreements are handled by a principal with a law license — not passed to whoever answers the phone.
North Shore villages have their own boards, codes, and expectations. We know them because we live here and build here.
The best time to bring in your builder is before the drawings are final. We are glad to review plans, budgets, and sites at any stage.
